COSW Ltd, as a project partner has secured over €6.3m to deliver an operational tidal site in Pembrokeshire. We know that in developing these demonstration zones, significant economic benefits and technical advances can be made in tidal stream energy. These include net cumulative benefits to the UK of 1,400m with 4000 new jobs by 2030. We would like to deliver some of these benefits in Pembrokeshire.
Cambrian Offshore South West Ltd. Is leading on this innovative project and are now proceeding to Phase 1 of the Project Operations.
The options around retrieval have been assessed and the first survey completed. Planning is underway for Phase 2 of Operations, which will see recovery of the device to a port location, for data extraction, evaluation and lessons learned and application to onward turbine design or adaptation.
